The PSIRA Grades are 5 Separate course that lead into one another starting with Grade E and working to Grade A
GRADE E: basics of Security
GRADE D: basics of Safety and Access Control
GRADE C: basics of health and safety and proper patrolling.
GRADE B: basics of Supervision and control
GRADE A: basics of Management and PSIRA regulations.
To become a security officer you must complete Grade E, D, C.
To become a control room operator and Supervisor you must complete Grade E, D, C and B
To become a senior manager or Company owner you must have Grades E, D, C, B and A.
This is a decision that PSIRA made in 2017, it is required to do all three courses as PSIRA has not released new course material that combines these 3 courses.
Each Grade takes one week to complete.
No, you must first register with PSIRA directly using the Mail Number provided to you after the Course reports are submitted.
After TSASA submits the course report it takes 2 – 3 weeks for processing after which the learner needs to go to the nearest PSIRA branch and follow the application process.
